Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Uncover AI (“Uncover AI”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use join.uncoverai.co, subscribe to Uncover AI News (our free newsletter) or purchase The Operator Brief (our paid newsletter), together the “Services”.

By using the Services you agree to this policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Services.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address when you subscribe to Uncover AI News or purchase The Operator Brief.
  • Profile answers if you complete our short quiz: your first name, your role, your AI experience level, the AI tools you use and the topics you care about. All of these are optional.
  • Partner newsletter choices if you opt in to any partner newsletters or communities we recommend after signing up.
  • Purchase details when you buy The Operator Brief: your name (if you provide it), email, the plan you chose and your billing country. Your card number, expiry and security code are entered directly into Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Messages you send us, for example by email.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and device data such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, referring page, approximate location (city level, derived from IP), browser and device type. We use Google Analytics 4 for this, see “Cookies and analytics”.
  • Server logs including IP address, request time and user agent, kept for security and troubleshooting.
  • Email engagement such as opens and link clicks in newsletters we send, collected by our email platform.

2. How we use information

  • To deliver the newsletters you subscribed to or purchased.
  • To personalise what we send you based on your quiz answers and reading behaviour.
  • To process payments, manage subscriptions and send receipts and billing notices.
  • To respond to your questions and support requests.
  • To understand how the Services are used and improve them.
  • To send you information about Uncover AI products, including The Operator Brief. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
  • To detect fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

  • Service providers that help us run the Services and process data on our behalf: beehiiv (newsletter delivery and subscriber management), Stripe (payments and subscription billing), Google Analytics (website analytics) and our hosting providers.
  • Partner newsletters, only when you explicitly choose to join them on our recommendations page. In that case we pass your email address to that partner so they can add you to their list. From then on the partner’s own privacy policy applies, and you unsubscribe from them directly.
  • Legal reasons, if required by law, subpoena or to protect the rights, property or safety of Uncover AI, our readers or others.
  • Business transfers, if Uncover AI is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We’ll notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies to recognise repeat visits and measure how people use the site. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

We also use your browser’s local storage to remember where you are in the signup flow and to avoid sending the same analytics event twice. Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention when you open checkout. We don’t use advertising or retargeting cookies.

5. Email communications

Every newsletter and marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing from Uncover AI News doesn’t cancel a paid Operator Brief subscription, see the Terms of Service for how to cancel. We may still send you transactional emails such as receipts, renewal notices or important account changes while you have an active paid subscription.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as you’re subscribed and as needed afterwards to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements (purchase records are typically kept for seven years). When you unsubscribe, your email is kept on a suppression list so we don’t contact you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete your data, see “Your choices and rights”.

7. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe with the link in any email.
  • Manage or cancel a paid subscription through the Stripe customer portal linked in your welcome and billing emails.
  • Access, correct or delete your information by emailing us at operator@uncoverai.co. We’ll respond within 30 days.

California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise a right, email operator@uncoverai.co. We may ask you to confirm the email address on file before acting on a request.

Outside the United States. The Services are operated from the United States and your information is processed there. If you live in the EU, UK or another region with data protection laws, you may have additional rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Email us to exercise them.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls and reputable providers for payments and email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Services are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here with an updated effective date and, for material changes, notify subscribers by email.
